Memories of a PTA ChairI attended my first ever PTA meeting...... all the committee members resigned at that meeting and I ended up volunteering to be Chair!!!Over the years as Chair and then as member of the PTA we have held/organised many events, from the usual ones like Bazaars and Carnivals to the more unusual like Sponsored Walks / Keep Fit and Fashion Shows. Jubilee Garden Over the extended weekend to celebrate the Queens Jubilee, I along with many other willing ‘victims’ worked at the school with Raleigh International to transform the old dilapidated swimming pool area into the Jubilee Garden. This was a great experience, everyone worked as a team and gave what time they could to the project to ensure the garden was completed on time. Sponsored Keep Fit My memory from this is watching all the children take part....they started off all spread out across the playground, by the end of the record they were dancing to they were all bunched up together. Disco I have done more discos than I care to remember...they are great fun for the children and I am glad they only last an hour!! I thoroughly enjoyed my time at St John’s School with the teachers, children and other parents. The thing to remember is....if everyone did ‘their bit’ it would be so much easier than the usual few doing everything. Natasha Thorpe |
